Where is light travelling to, and what is the original source in which is emitting the light?

i’m not talking light bulbs, fire,
i mean the oriignal, first ever, ‘trigger’ to start the light travelling.

The cosmic microwave background (CMB) radiation is left from the Big Bang, and has been traveling for 13.7 billion years. It is red-shifted from blue-white hot. It has traveled that far in light years. It will probably expand outward from the singularity point in all directions until it is beyond the observable universe (for us).
